There is a reason the old painters placed the traveller so small at the foot of the mountain. Not to diminish him, but to remind us of scale.

Most of what feels urgent today will not survive the week. Perspective is not indifference; it is the discipline of measuring a thing against the whole landscape before responding to it.

Climb slowly. Look back often. The path you were anxious about will look, from above, like a single quiet line through the grass.
